A cyclist is dead after being struck by a vehicle on a residential street in Upper Sahali this afternoon (Nov. 15).
Emergency crews were called to the 1500-block of Springhill Drive at about 3 p.m.
Investigators believe a vehicle headed south made a left-hand turn in front of the cyclist, resulting in the collision.
The cyclist, a man whose age and identity have not yet been released, was thrown from his bicycle and landed on the road.
He was rushed by ambulance to Royal Inland Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Springhill Drive is closed pending the arrival of an RCMP collision analyst who is en route from Kelowna.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information can call police at 250-828-3000.
