The Crown has agreed to release from jail a 28-year-old woman facing charges relating to the Dec. 3 shooting of a Kamloops Mountie.
Marquee Klim, who is facing one count of wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, will be released as soon as she can come up with $500.
Klim and 36-year-old Kenneth Knutson are the only two people facing charges in relation to the shooting of Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jean-Rene Michaud, 40.
Knutson is facing a number of charges, including attempted murder.
Michaud remains in stable condition at Royal Inland Hospital, where he was brought out of an induced coma following two surgeries. He was reported to be speaking to family members.
Michaud was shot while performing a traffic stop on a vehicle in Batchelor Heights in the early-morning hours of Dec. 3.
Knutson is a convicted killer with a lengthy criminal history, including a previous conviction for assaulting a police officer.
He has also been linked by justice officials to two Lower Mainland criminal organizations and the notorious Bacon brothers.
Knutson is slated to appear in Kamloops provincial court for a bail hearing on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Klim is due back in court on Jan. 12.
