Senior boys
Day two of the 2014 Fulton Cup basketball tournament was highlighted by a double-overtime thriller between the Westsyde Whundas and Sa-Hali Sabres in senior boys’ basketball.
The Whundas won 66-64 on Thursday, Dec. 18, propelling themselves into the Friday, Dec. 19 final against the South Kamloops Titans.
The Titans won their only game on Thursday, defeating the St. Ann’s Crusaders 65-57. St. Ann’s lost its second game of the day 87-29 to the NorKam Saints.
The Saints and the Valleyview Vikings will play for bronze, while the Crusaders and the Sabres will play for fifth.
The gold-game will go at 5:30 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Senior girls
The Titans and the Saints will play for gold in the senior girls’ bracket of the Fulton Cup, with both teams finishing round-robin play with 2-0 records.
South Kam wasn’t in action on Thursday, but NorKam won it’s only game 67-40 against St. Ann’s Academy.
In other action, Sa-Hali defeated St. Ann’s 51-46 and Westsyde defeated Valleyview 45-40.
The Whundas and the Sabres will play on Friday for bronze, while the Vikings and the Crusaders will play for fifth.
The gold-medal game will go at 7:15 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Junior boys
It will be a north versus south battle in junior boys’ Fulton Cup action, as the Titans will face the Saints for gold on Friday.
South Kamloops won its only game on Thursday, defeating St. Ann’s Academy 58-32.
The Whundas beat the Vikings 46-36 and the Sabres defeated the Crusades 58-37 in other Thursday action.
Westsyde and Sa-Hali will play for bronze, while Valleyview and St. Ann’s Academy will play for fifth.
The gold-medal game will go at 4 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre.
Junior girls
Westsyde and South Kamloops will play for gold in junior girls’ action, after Westsyde defeated St. Ann’s 57-8.
Sa-Hali defeated St. Ann’s 52-13 and NorKam defeated Valleyview 37-21.
The Saints will play the Sabres for bronze, while the Vikings will play the Crusaders for fifth.
The gold-medal game will go at 5:30 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre.
