More than 160 area drivers were ticketed for distracted driving in the month of March, according to Kamloops Mounties.
RCMP Cpl. Cheryl Bush said 41 distracted-driving tickets were handed out by Mounties from the Kamloops detachment, while an additional 122 were written by officers with the Integrated Road Safety Unit and Central Interior Traffic Services.
“This would include some work on the highways within this region; however, most of these violations were issued during projects done within city limits,” she said.
Bush said an additional 41 drivers were ticketed in Mach for speeding in school zones.
