The Calgary Flames bettered the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL playoffs. B.C. will look to strike back at the ABC Border Bowls.
All-star teams from B.C. and Alberta will square off in three football tilts at Hillside Stadium on May 23.
The Young Stars (Grades 6 and 7) meet at 11 a.m., the Future Stars (Grades 8 and 9) play at 1:30 p.m. and the Rising Stars (Grades 10 and 11).
Talon Bennett, a Grade 11 student at South Kamloops secondary and a member of the junior Kamloops Broncos, will suit up for the B.C. Rising Stars.
Connor McCoy of Westsyde secondary will play for the B.C. Future Stars.
“The viewership online will be very large as these games are run by a scout back east named Ron Dias,” said Chel Sanghera, a co-ordinator for the ABC Border Bowls.
“He sends the rosters out to 22 colleges and universities prior to the games.”
