Nathan Champness of Kamloops enjoyed a pair of gold-medal finishes earlier this month in the South Okanagan.
He placed first at the Bare Bones Duathlon — a five-kilometre run followed by a 34-km trip on the bicycle and another five-km run — in Penticton on May 9, finishing in a time of 1:27:09.
Second-place finisher Justin Birks of Penticton recorded a time of 1:28:54.
Champness backed up the victory with another finish atop the podium at the Blossom 10 Miler in Naramata on May 10.
He posted a time of 56:51, finishing well ahead of silver-medal winner Jeff Vogt, the Kelowna product who crossed the finish line in 58:23.
Champness, who won the UBC Triathlon in March, recently moved to Kamloops from Vernon.
