Try pickle ball or table tennis and celebrate the seniors of Kamloops.
The City of Kamloops is hosting a seniors’ social on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Tournament Capital Centre, to celebrate the national day.
Free refreshments and snacks will be available, with opportunities to try tai chi, pickle ball and table tennis.
Several information booths will be on site, including Interior Health, the United Way, the Seniors’ Advisory Committee, Keep on Moving, the Centre for Seniors Information, Oncore Services, Community Safety and Interior Community Services.
The event is free.
Bob Bossin’s book
A B.C. writer will discuss stories of gambling at the Kamloops Library tomorrow night (Oct. 1).
Bob Bossin will read from his non-fiction book Davy the Punk, which focuses on his father’s life in the gambling business.
Bossin is a musician and writer and has had essays and journalism in newspapers and magazines throughout the country.
In 2003. he was nominated for a National Magazine Award.
The event is free, but space is limited.
