Mitch Friesen is practising with the Vernon Vipers of the B.C. Hockey League, Kamloops Storm general manager Barry Dewar told KTW on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Friesen suited up in a pair of games for the Storm this weekend and notched a goal.

The 6-fppt-4 forward joins Mark Ferner in Vernon. Ferner coached with the Kamloops Blazers during Friesen’s tenure with the WHL club and has returned to Vernon as the head coach and general manager of the Vipers.

A Surrey native, Friesen has suited up for one previous BCHL game, playing for the Surrey Eagles, and was held pointless.

Dewar was uncertain if Friesen was with the Vipers on a full-time basis or was just practising with the club.
