Michael Graydon, the B.C. Lottery Corp. president and CEO who elected to live and work in the Lower Mainland and moved senior administration there, is leaving the Crown corporation.
Graydon is leaving the BCLC for the private sector. He will be replaced in the interim by Jim Lightbody, who is also based in Vancouver.
Lightbody has worked for the Crown corporation for 13 years, most recently as vice-president of casino and community gaming.
Graydon was named to B.C. Lottery Corp. in March 2008.
Unlike the former president and CEO, he elected not to live or work in Kamloops, at that time the head office. Graydon gradually shifted executive operations to Vancouver. Kamloops, home to more than 400 employees, became a focus for technical operations.
The chairman of the B.C. Lottery Corp. is Kamloopsian and former attorney-general Bud Smith.
The Crown corporation has not placed a deadline on finding Graydon’s permanent replacement. Under his leadership, B.C. Lottery Corp. grew revenues by $235 million a year through aggressive casino expansion and online gambling.
